(
Otus
scops
). Na suhih kraških zidovih lahko
uzremo zelenca (
Lacerta viridis
Lissotriton
vulgaris
) do kačjih pastirjev
(
Libellula
[8],
Ischnura
,
Calopteryx
) na lovu za žuželkami.
T
he fauna of the Karst
is reflected in typical
habitats of the area, represented
by extensive wooded areas
interspersed with cultivated
fields and hay meadows, giving
rise to a complex semi–natural
system characterized by high
biodiversity. Along the trail
it is not unusual to glimpse a
roe deer (
Capreolus
capreolus
)
[6] or encounter the signs of
the presence of wild boar (
Sus
scrofa
)
[9] while among the birds
it is very common to hear the
song of the chaffinch (
Fringilla
coelebs
) and the blackcap (
Sylvia
atricapilla
), or, here and there,
a great spotted woodpecker
(
Dendrocopus major
) [7], cuckoo
(
Cuculus
canorus
) or Chiffchaff
(
Phylloscopus
collybita
) and, with a little luck,
the nightingale (
Luscinia megarhynchos
),
whose brilliant singing in spring continues from
the early evening hours and lasts well on into
the night, combatting the nocturnal silence and
the eerie hoots of the scops owl (
Otus
scops
).
On the stone walls you can see the green lizards
(
Lacerta viridis
) sunning themselves while
in the meadows and the agricultural fields in
bloom, butterflies are the most obvious species
in the environment, among which, standing
out for its beauty is the characteristic scarce
swallowtail (
Iphiclides podalirius
) [10]. Before
reaching Colludrozza you will come across a
pond which once provided drinking water for
cattle, dominated by the presence of a wetland
